1. Choose your dimensions and style Edit Next step

Finding your dimensions

Grab your tape measure and read the measuring instructions for inside mount or outside mount – it shows you exactly how to measure your windows to get the dimensions you need for your new shutters. We suggest to print both measuring instructions before going to the next step.

Installation Style:

Choose your favourite style

All of our interior shutters are custom made and arrive ready to fit - perfect for DIY newbies. See what style of interior shutter works for you.

Attaching a photo can help our Shutter Experts when they call to check your order. Please make sure the window framing and glazing is fully visible, and any handles or obstructions can be seen.

Solid Raised: Solid wooden shutters can be made in many different designs and patterns, in the same way as doors.
Combi Panel: Combi shutters provide maximum privacy at the lower level of solid wood which can prevent prying eyes peering in when walking past your home in the street, and still let you have as much or as little light in the room as you wish through controlling the slats in the upper half.

Number of panels:

How many panels?

It really depends on how you plan to use the shutters. If you intend to open them every day, narrower panels take up less space. If you leave them closed most of the time, wider panels are recommended.

Mid rails:

What is a mid rail?

A mid rail is a horizontal rail within the structure of your shutter panel. It can be both a structural requirement – to give strength to panels over a certain height – and a design feature. It is required on all shutters over 70 7/8" and a 2nd rail is required on shutters over 106 5/16"

1st Mid rail height:

How to measure your divide point

We need to know the position you’d like your shutters to divide when you place your order. Simply measure from the bottom of the window to the centre point of where you’d like the divide to be. Midrail position can vary see here Midrail Variation

2nd Mid rail height:

Louvre size (mm):

Which slat size?

It’s all down to personal preference. Large slats offer a more contemporary look and let in slightly more light, while smaller slats suit more traditional homes

Control Type:

Which tilt rod option?

Central: connects the slats with a traditional rod, positioned front-centre.
Offset: connects the slats with a traditional rod, at the front and to the hinged side of each panel.
Hidden Rod: connects the slats with a discreet metal bar, to the rear and side of each panel.
Concealed: connects via an integrated mechanism concealed within the stile (10% surcharge).

Number of frame sides

Which frame?

Shutters are normally supplied with a 4 sided frame, this gives the panels the most support for their weight.

Mount type:

What is outside mount?

Outside mounts are used for windows with no recess or limited depth. We offer a range of frame options that work with an outside mount.

What is inside mount?

An inside mount means you’re measuring to place the shutters inside the window recess. You’ll need a deep window sill and space to mount your shutters.
